Internal Statement for Students
Dear Colleagues:
As a reminder, below is an internal statement that has and should be shared with students or colleagues who may reach out to you during this time of conflict (or at any time that is appropriate):
At the University of Illinois Chicago, the strength of our community comes from the diversity of our students, faculty and staff who help us reflect the world. Our shared grief over senseless acts of violence and brutality rooted in repression and discrimination, remind us to continue to live the values of our university - to be inclusive, to treat each other with dignity and respect, and to provide a safe and supportive environment for each other.
Your well-being is our utmost concern. There are several resources available for students, faculty and staff if you, or someone you know, needs support. These resources include:
- Counseling Center<https://counseling.uic.edu/> and the Office of the Dean of Students<https://dos.uic.edu/> (for students).
- Campus Advocacy Network<https://can.uic.edu/> (for faculty, staff and students).
- State Employee Assistance Program<https://www.hr.uillinois.edu/benefits/worklife/eap> and UIC Employee Assistance Service<https://hospital.uillinois.edu/primary-and-specialty-care/university-health-service/employee-assistance-service> (for employees).
Best Wishes,
Renee Taylor
