Dear AHS Faculty,

The Office of Student Affairs is excited to invite you to join us in making the Challenge of the Deans one of our strongest AHS community events of the year. As we work toward building a set of meaningful, high-energy AHS traditions — including our Annual Paella Cookout, New Student Welcomes, and AHS Graduation & Celebration Night — we would love your partnership in helping this event gain the same momentum.

Join us for food, giveaways, and an AHS cheering section as we come together to support our Dean and engage with students, colleagues, and staff in a fun, spirited environment.

To help us generate excitement, we’ve prepared a Faculty Toolkit that includes:

  • Flyers for all three lead-up activities
  • Direct links to Inside AHS announcements
  • Messaging you can share with students in class, on Blackboard/Canvas, or via email

AHS Activities Leading Up to the Main Event

  1. Free Throw Qualifier – Who Will Shoot With the Dean?
    We’re hosting a student free throw challenge to select the student who will compete alongside our Dean at halftime.
  1. Dean's Cheer Squad Poster-Making Party
    Tuesday, January 20 • 12–2 PM • ASAP Center (PEB 356)
    A fun drop-in event where students can make posters and show off their AHS spirit..
  2. Challenge of the Dean's Game & Pregame Party
    Tuesday, January 27 • Starting at 6 PM

Your enthusiasm and encouragement go a long way in building community and showing students that AHS is a place where they belong. We hope you’ll join us, bring colleagues, and help spread the word so this year’s Challenge of the Deans becomes our strongest showing yet.
