Libraries buildings update & laptop/hotspot requests
The latest update from the library about the library buildings is that both the Library of the Health Sciences and Daley are closed until further notice.
The university has a limited number of laptops and hotspots available for students without reliable computers and/or internet access at their homes, and this form has been created for students to place a request: https://accc.uic.edu/forms/laptop-request/ (when you click this link you will then be directed to log in with your UIC NetID). More information about how students can access their courses can be found here: https://accc.uic.edu/support/academic-continuity/technology-basics-for-academic-continuity-student-focused/
APA Publication Manual available online
APA announced that it is making their citation manual available for free for university students through May 25th via both VitalSource and RedShelf:

A (free) account must be created in order to access the text.
Free Resources from Publishers during COVID 19 Emergency
A number of publishers have made their content more broadly available due to the disruption caused by COVID-19.
Our collections librarian has assembled a guide full of links to such content here: https://researchguides.uic.edu/free
ILLiad request are still being processed for articles and book chapters
ILLiad requests for articles and other non-returnable items are still being processed for UIC users. Turnaround times and fill rates are being impacted by the number of libraries operating under remote work conditions, so normal service expectations may not be met. No books are being requested for the time being.
