Mansha Mirza and Sumithra Murthy awarded a $620,198 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Community Living grant

Congratulations to Mansha Mirza (PI) and Sumithra Murthy (Co-PI) on being awarded a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Community Living three year, $620,198 grant for “Strengthening Aging Services for Minority Populations Through Technical Assistance, Resource Development, and Program Coordination.”

In partnership with key community stakeholders, they will develop a technical assistance and resource development center that will focus on fostering Aging Services Inclusive of Asian American Networks (ASIAAN).

ASIAAN’s overall goal is to address health care and social service barriers experienced by AAEs within the Chicago Metropolitan area by building capacity for culturally relevant care within service systems, fostering health literacy among AAEs and their caregivers, and cultivating cultural sensitivity among future health and social service providers.
