Michelle Adams leads interactive training for Chicago Public Schools’ Diabetes Care Aid program
On Friday, Nov. 8, Michelle Adams lead an interactive training titled, “Advanced Strategies for Diabetes Management during Exercise” for Chicago Public Schools’ Diabetes Care Aid program for students with diabetes. Over 70 CPS care aids were in attendance. DCA’s are school teachers or staff who are paired with students who have diabetes during all in-school and after-school activities to provide direct management of each child’s diabetes care plan. My session included hands-on skills training, including use of insulin pens and glucagon emergency injections.
