A report released by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and coauthored by DHD professor Joy Hammel finds that people living with mental illness, intellectual or other developmental disabilities continue to face significant housing discrimination in the rental housing market.

The report titled, "Rental Housing Discrimination on the Basis of Mental Disabilities: Results of Pilot Testing" represents the first multicity housing discrimination study to utilize people with mental disabilities as testers.
