Skill Surge Superstar Spotlight!
Introduction
Meet Yesenia Cruz, a sophomore in the AHS college with a professional goal of pre-health. She went above and beyond by attending all Skill Surge sessions in both the Academic Skills and Clearing the Clutter series!
When asked why she joined Skill Surge, Yesenia responded:
“I needed help and wasn’t sure what I could do differently this year to succeed. I talked with my advisor, Simona, and she recommended I give this a try. I was willing to try it to make a difference in my habits.”
Throughout the 5-week programs, Yesenia participated in workshops such as Power of Habits, Critical Reading Strategies, Inbox Management, and more! Her favorite part?
“I liked how the students were very on top of their stuff, very organized, and very nice.”
ASAP’s mission is to build a strong, welcoming community for our AHS students. Here is Yesenia’s advice for future participants:
