Spyros Kitsiou is the recipient of a Midwest Roybal Center Pilot Grant
BHIS assistant professor Spyros Kitsiou is the recipient of a one year, $40,000 Midwest Roybal Center Pilot Grant in support of his research project titled, “iCardia4HF: A patient-centered mobile health intervention to promote self-management and improve patient outcomes in chronic heart failure”.
Spyros is the principal investigator, and will examine the impact of a smartphone-enabled point of care system on self-management, quality of life, and hospital admissions in ambulatory heart failure patients. Collaborators include Thomas Stamos and Ben Gerber of the UIC College of Medicine, as well as Susan Pressler from Indiana University and Susan Buchholz from Rush University Medical Center.
