Survey: Digital accessibility initiatives at UIC

As you know, UIC has embarked on a large initiative to ensure most/all materials are digitally accessible  by April 2026.  This is required for full compliance with final rule revision of Title II of the ADA.  Likely some/all of your college is already  engaged.  In general digital accessibility will include: course materials, LMS, websites and web applications.

I am the health science colleges representative on the Digital Accessibility Steering Committee (DASC). We have been asked to provide perspective for  the Digital Accessibility Team/process .  I am asking YOU for your thoughts. This will help US  in decision making at university level, including prioritization, timeline development, resource allocation etc, setting expectations for all individuals who will need to engage.

To expedite information sharing, we have a digital survey. It is a free text of four questions.  Take the health sciences digital accessibility survey here.

You do not need to answer all questions.  Question response does not need to be lengthy. Feel free to forward the survey to anyone in your college that may be working on, have an opinion about etc. If they/you are already on a university committee or in the college working on it, feel free to complete, if you have insights you have not had an opportunity to share. Appreciate multiple replies from each college!  We ask for your contact info, mainly as follow-up if needed.  You do NOT need to fill that out if you do not wish.

I will collate the answers and move them along to Jason Maslanka and the DASC .  Please complete by February 19, EOBD.
