AHS Research Day 2024

Join us to learn about the life-changing research and scholarship happening at the UIC College of Applied Health Sciences.

Tiffany Raber earns spot in coveted summer internship

BVIS student Tiffany Raber will be spending her summer as a visiting research assistant for the Army Research Laboratory at the University of Southern California's Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT).  The Army Research Laboratory, in collaboration with ICT, is focused on human information interaction-a target area that crosses human sciences, information sciences, computational sciences, mechanical engineering and biology.

Her research will focus on modeling and simulation in virtual reality (VR) with duties including, but not limited to running the study, developing working prototypes and experimenting with current VR frameworks and asset development techniques.

Visiting research assistants are required to work independently on their assigned research and collaboratively with other students and their mentors on interdisciplinary projects.  Active projects include Bravemind (PTSD therapy), analysis of psychological signals (depression detection for service members) and novel interactions with amputees (game-based tool for rehabilitation).
