Transition from Cisco Phones to Zoom Phone
Introduction
As part of our ongoing efforts to modernize and enhance campus telecommunications, and to address rising costs, Technology Solutions is transitioning a specific subset of campus phones and fax lines from Cisco to Zoom Phone before the end of the fiscal year.
What is happening?
Technology Solutions will be transitioning campus phone and fax lines from the legacy Cisco Voice Gateway system to Zoom Phone Voice Gateways in phases over the coming weeks. This work will be completed by Wednesday, July 1.
You can review the list of impacted numbers at Cisco Voice Gateway Lines Box file (log-in required).
This effort is being driven by Cisco licensing costs. Taking action before the new fiscal year allows the university to better manage and reduce potential licensing cost exposure while continuing to modernize telecommunications services.
What is changing?
This change is mostly seamless and will cause very limited downtime for each specific number.
After the transition, dialing "9" before off-campus phone numbers or fax numbers will no longer work and should not be used.
When is my unit transitioning?
