VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Giving Day College Champion
Introduction
On March 4, 2026, UIC will launch Give Spark, Leave a Mark – our inaugural day of giving designed to celebrate generosity and ignite pride across campus.
To help make the day feel personal, energetic, and visible in every corner of UIC, we are seeking one “College Champion” from each college. This is a great opportunity to support your unit, connect with colleagues and students, and help build excitement for a major campuswide moment.
What Is a College Champion?
Champions serve as their unit’s on‑the‑ground point person during Giving Day. Responsibilities include:
- Handing out “I Gave” stickers and keeping the energy high
- Serving as a friendly contact for basic questions
- Sharing updates and reminders from the central advancement team
- Helping create a positive, celebratory atmosphere within your college, school, or unit
This is not a fundraising role and requires no solicitation. It’s a light, fun, community‑building opportunity.
What You’ll Receive
Champions will be fully supported with:
- Clear talking points
- All necessary materials (including “I Gave” stickers)
- Guidance and day‑of support from the central advancement team
The primary commitment is simply being available on March 4 to help spread the word and keep momentum going in your area. A brief orientation will be provided, along with an optional post‑event feedback session to help shape future Giving Days.
How to Volunteer
If you’d like to volunteer or nominate someone in your area, please contact Bridget Esangga at besangga@uic.edu by Tuesday, February 3, or add your information to this spreadsheet- Giving Day Champions - Google Sheets.
