AHS doctoral program graduates its first student: Shirley Burton

The doctoral program in biomedical health informatics graduated its first student this spring: Shirley Burton. The program was established in 2015. Dr. Burton’s disseration is entitled, “Examining Clinicians’ Perspectives on Computer-Based Adoption and Use of Patient-Reported Outcomes.” Members of her dissertation committee included Andrew Boyd (Chair), Joanna Abraham (Washington University), Ashley Hughes, Justin Starren (Northwestern University) and Annette Valenta. She is headed to a fellowship with the Public Health Informatics Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Class of 2021.
