Amy McNeil and Shayna Oshita are members of team that won 2023 Interprofessional Teaching in Action Matters (I-TEAM) Award

The initiative entitled,  “Collaborative Empowerment through IPE: Nutrition and Oral Health Initiative” is the winner of the 2023 Interprofessional Teaching in Action Matters (I-TEAM) Award. Amy McNeil, Shayna Oshita, Sobia Bilal (UIC Dentistry) and Khatija Noorullah (UIC Dentistry) created the initiative.
The I-TEAM award is awarded annually to a faculty team that has demonstrated excellence in interprofessional practice and education (IPE) through teaching innovation. The team received the $2,500 prize based on the Nutrition and Oral Health Initiative’s “focus on advancing interprofessional education, cultural awareness and patient-centered care with early learners at UI Health.
The team will be honored at the UIC Faculty Awards Ceremony & Reception, Oct. 25.
