Joy Hammel’s trip to Washington D.C. highlighted by AOTA

DHD, OT professor Joy Hammel and fellow disability rights advocates traveled to Washington D.C. to lobby for the protection and expansion of rehabilitation research. The trip was highlighted in this AOTA news article.

“On May 2, Joy Hammel and other DRRC advocates met with Dr. Robert Jaeger, the recently appointed Director of NIDILRR, to emphasize the importance of the critical role that the Institute plays as the flagship disability, independent living, and rehabilitation research agency in the federal government and of its importance to people with disabilities.”
