It can sometimes be valuable to contact a program officer before submitting a grant proposal. But how do you find the right program officer for your research?
NIH has expanded the capability of the MATCHMAKER function in the NIH RePORTER to help you identify relevant program officers. Rather than selecting “query,” select “matchmaker” and enter key words or an abstract of your project.
Click on “similar program officials” and you will get an output of program officers, their institutes and the number of funded projects they oversee related to your interests.
