PT Faculty Practice hiring Worksite Wellness Program technicians

The Physical Therapy Faculty Practice at UIC is seeking Worksite Wellness Program technicians to assist in administering, scoring, and interpreting health related questionnaires and to perform health related assessments.

The Worksite Wellness Program will provide services to the officers and staff of the UIC Police Department, with a goal of improving the health and wellbeing of its participants. The program follows a multi-disciplinary team approach to promote healthy lifestyle changes.

The position currently requires 4 hours per week and a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with health history questionnaire intake and data collection
• Explaining questionnaire and test protocol and procedures to the individual being tested
• Assess resting heart rate and blood pressure
• Maintaining equipment using appropriate preparation, utilization, and sanitization techniques
• Participating in care plan creation
• Tracking progress of participant care plan
• Complete proper documentation of health data
• Database entry
• Assist supervising staff as needed

Qualifications

• Be in good academic standing and have completed at least one year of undergraduate course work from a major in the College of Applied Health Sciences
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, participants and others in either a one-on-one or group situation utilizing appropriate language

Preferred qualifications

• Be able to assess resting heart rate and blood pressure
• Be able to obtain basic anthropometric data (height, weight, BMI, waist to hip ratio)
• Experience administering health related questionnaires
• Accurately review and interpret clinical measurements
• Exhibit sufficient analytical ability to interpret and utilize a variety of information to determine appropriate plan for lifestyle modification
• Experience providing general health education to individuals or groups
