PT assistant professor Deepika Laddu is the co-author of a new study titled, “25-Year Physical Activity Trajectories and Development of Subclinical Coronary Artery Disease as Measured by Coronary Artery Calcium” published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings.
Laddu and a team of researchers found that white men who exercise at high levels are 86 percent more likely than people who exercise at low levels to experience a buildup of plaque in the heart arteries by middle age.
The findings are the subject of news stories published by national and international outlets such as New York Daily News, Good Morning America, Men’s Health, New York Post, Forbes, ABC7 Chicago, WBBM Radio Chicago, CBS Detroit, The Independent and US News & World Report.
