Rolando Jara receives Illinois Occupational Therapy Association 2021 OT Student Award

Second year MS in OT student Rolando Jara received the Illinois Occupational Therapy Association’s 2021 OT Student Award. Yolanda Suarez-Balcazar and Gail Fisher nominated him for the award. Jara was presented with the award during a virtual Zoom ceremony on Oct. 16. Jara moved to Chicago from California during the pandemic and took on major volunteer roles with Chicago Street Medicine (he is an EMT) and also is teaching a class at The Michael Barlow Center. He will graduate summer 2022.
