UIC Research Week 2026: AHS Lightning Talks

You are warmly invited to participate in AHS Lightning Talks as part of UIC Research Week 2026, to celebrate research, innovation and student success across the UIC College of Applied Health Sciences.
This year’s theme, “Aging and Health Promotion,” highlights research that advances healthy aging, mobility, independence and community well-being across the lifespan.
Join us for this fast-paced session featuring short presentations by AHS researchers, students and alumni highlighting research pathways, interdisciplinary collaborations, career pathways and student experiences.

- Hidden Signals in Brain Blood Flow: Cerebrovascular Waveform Analysis and Healthy Brain Aging, presented by Stacey Aaron, Assistant professor, UIC Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition
- Optimizing Women’s Health in Midlife: A BodyMind Approach, presented by Desi Bartlett ‘95 BS KINES, ‘97 MS KINES, Women’s health expert and best-selling author
- Loneliness, Chronic Pain, and Cognitive Health in Older Latino Adults, presented by David Camacho, Assistant professor, UIC Department of Disability and Human Development
- From assessment to intervention: Targeting cognitive-motor interference and fall risk in older adults with mild cognitive impairment, presented by Jessica Pitts, PhD candidate, UIC Program in Rehabilitation Sciences, Cognitive Motor Balance and Rehabilitation Laboratory
- Multimodal Approaches to Capturing Changes in Physical Activity in Aging Adults with Osteoarthritis, presented by Kathleen Suvada, Postdoctoral research associate, Biomechanics and Clinical Outcomes Laboratory
