New UIC brand rollout: Access and Excellence (Un)Locked

I attended UIC’s new brand workshop hosted by UIC Strategic Marketing and Communications and branding agency Ologie. The session previewed the university’s updated brand system, which will begin rolling out campuswide this fall.

The workshop covered updated guidance around typography, photography, colors, storytelling and visual identity standards intended to create a more unified and recognizable UIC presence across colleges and units.

To help everyone get familiar with the new brand resources, I encourage you to complete the following quick action steps:

6. Watch for Canva updates
New UIC brand fonts and elements will be added to UIC-licensed Canva accounts. Each UIC college and unit receives two UIC Canva Premium licenses, with additional licenses available for purchase by departments and programs at the UIC rate of $119 for the contract year

7. Update your UIC email signature

8. Participate in brand excellence training and writing workshops

9. Take advantage of brand studio hours
Monthly sessions that make brand application known through hands-on creative, brand, and writing practice

I'll continue sharing updates, resources and implementation guidance as the new UIC brand rolls out across campus. This will be an ongoing, phased process over the coming months and years as additional tools, templates, integrations and standards are introduced and refined.

Thanks for your flexibility, collaboration and support as we work together to make excellence known!
