OT faculty receive 2025 Interprofessional Teaching in Action Matters (I-TEAM) Award
Introduction
Dalmina Arias, Kathy Preissner and Caitlin Smith were presented with the Interprofessional Teaching in Action Matters Award (I-TEAM Award) at the 2025-26 UIC Faculty Awards Ceremony. Their winning program, designed with UIC Nursing faculty, is called Simulated Interprofessional Hand-off Among Nursing and Occupational Therapy Students. It is designed to strengthen communication, teamwork, and role clarity in high-acuity clinical environments, ultimately improving patient care and safety.
