PAC for PDF accessibility
Introduction
As our work to bring our website into full accessibility compliance ramps up, I'd like to share an update regarding PDF accessibility checkers.
First things first. Ask yourself: "Does this need to be a PDF?" before creating one. Several cloud-based, enterprise-supported solutions are ideal for documents, forms, surveys, and other similar applications.
If you're going to create a PDF, run an accessibility check on your PDF using PAC, a free PDF accessibility checker for Windows computers.
We have found PAC to be significantly more accurate than Adobe Acrobat Pro in identifying accessibility issues in PDFs. You can find more resources and information in our PAC Tip Sheet as well as the accessibility resource portal on Inside AHS.
If you require further assistance, please submit a support ticket.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership in this critical endeavor.
