Paragraph Styles for Document Accessibility

Dear Colleagues,

When creating documents in Word or Google Docs, it is important to tag your headings using the built-in paragraph styles formatting settings. By tagging headings with paragraph styles, screen reader users will be able to navigate your document.

Use the Paragraph Styles Formatting Tip Sheet to learn how to tag headings and format your documents.

This tip sheet includes information on:

  • What are paragraph styles?
  • Tagging headings
  • Creating accessible white space for PDFs
  • How to review the structure of your document
