DHD faculty and staff serve on IASSIDD 2024 World Congress organizing committee
DHD faculty and staff including Tamar Heller (chair), Katie Arnold, Carrie Sandahl, Lieke van Heumen, Maura Zigmont, Sumithra Murthy and Jasmina Sisirak served on the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities World Congress local organizing committee. The conference attracted about 900 delegates from around the world. The UIC Gary Albrecht Global Disability Impact Fund sponsored the Global South and Disability conference panel and paid for the travel and registration expenses of the panelists who were all alumni of the DHD disability studies PhD program: Patrick Ojok, Vladimir Cuk, and Rachael Wanjagua along with Robert Gould.
