About
Hi! I'm Oscar- the undergraduate academic advisor for the Disability & Human Development program at UIC! I am a first-generation graduate from Northern Illinois University (NIU), where I earned two bachelor’s degrees; one degree is in Corporate Communications, and the other is in Spanish Business Translation.
I have had the privilege to work in higher education over the past few years, providing academic advising to undergraduate populations. During my time at UIC, I aim to connect in an interpersonal way with all students to tailor my advising approach to that specific student. I have a strong understanding of the struggles that come with being first-generation and managing this experience.
