Presentation Abstract & Objectives
This presentation introduces the MOHO-Engage, an assessment grounded in the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) designed to evaluate engagement in occupation through a semi-structured interview process. The MOHO-Engage assists practitioners in identifying patterns of volition, habituation, performance capacity, and environmental influences that shape engagement across areas of occupation. Participants will actively engage in guided role-play to practice administering semi-structured questions as outlined in the MOHO-Engage manual followed up with interactive scoring exercises. Attendees will learn to rate, interpret, and synthesize findings to inform intervention planning and documentation. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to be involved with a research study to validate this new instrument for the wider benefit of the OT community.
At the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to:
- Articulate the purpose for the MOHO-Engage and appropriate practice settings for using the tool.
- Role-play the semi-structed questions as per the MOHO-Engage manual
- Score and interpret results from role play with the MOHO-Engage tool.
