About

Kelly Hsieh, PhD, is a Research Professor in the Department of Disability and Human Development and Associate Director of the Institute on Disability and Human Development at the University of Illinois Chicago, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). She also leads the Institute’s Evaluation and Public Policy Unit.

Dr. Hsieh’s research focuses on health risk behaviors and outcomes—such as obesity, falls, cardiovascular disease, and dementia—among individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as interventions to improve well-being for adults with disabilities and their caregivers. She has extensive experience in program evaluation at the local, state, and national levels, currently contributing to projects including the State-Operated Developmental Centers (SODC) Evaluation, Aspire’s Employment Training Program, the Wellness Action Via Engagement (WAVE) project, and the Bridging Aging and Disability Networks (BADN) initiative.
