About

Kristin Mount began teaching in the BVIS program in 1997 when she developed its first online courses in Illustration Applications and Computer Visualization. She became a research advisor in 2010 and has since served as chair or committee member on numerous graduate student research projects. Today she teaches Anatomical Figure Drawing and Biological Illustration Techniques in the BVIS undergrad program and continues to chair graduate research committees.

Kristin received her MAMS degree from BVIS in 1992, and since then has run a freelance illustration studio, creating illustrations for book publishers, law firms, surgeons, and pharmaceutical companies. To date, she has illustrated over 100 medical, health, and general science books. She received a Silver Addy Award for her illustrations in an Indiana Firebirds advertising campaign in 2003.

Kristin has also taught Illustration and Anatomy courses at the American Academy of Art in Chicago for 18 years, has taught Anatomy for Life Drawing at the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago, and has taught several courses in Adobe Illustrator at various national meetings of the Association of Medical Illustrators.
