About

Dr. Lisa Shabosky is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in UIC’s program. She brings more than seven years of acute care experience from a Level I trauma hospital and has also served as the occupational therapy representative in the Les Turner ALS Neuromuscular Multidisciplinary Clinic. Her clinical interests include maternal/reproductive health, as well as neonatal care. In 2025, Dr. Shabosky completed the Ignite Core Training and Mentoring Program for Neonatal Therapists through the National Association of Neonatal Therapists and led initiatives to advance occupational therapy services for maternal/reproductive health and NICU populations in acute care. That same year, she earned her post-professional OTD with a focus on higher education and developed the Fieldwork Curriculum Toolkit, an adult‑learning‑based resource designed to enhance fieldwork preparedness and success. Her academic and clinical work centers on applying adult learning principles and evidence‑based teaching strategies to improve fieldwork education and expanding occupational therapy’s role in maternal and neonatal care to support optimal caregiver–infant relationships during the postpartum period.
