About
Adrian Tabungar is a Maker engaging in design work that serves the disability community. As equipment specialist for the Research and Engineering Lab within UIC's Assistive Tech Unit, he designs and fabricates adaptive equipment for clients with disabilities throughout the Chicagoland region. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from UIC, as well as a master of Design in Industrial Design at the same institution. His work in industrial design draws on the connection between culture and technology. His methods in making apply craftsman techniques, and additive and subtractive manufacturing processes like 3D printing and milling. When not designing for the disability community, Adrian enjoys building little stools.
