Dr. Ryan Thomure is an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor within the UIC Department of Occupational Therapy. He has worked as an occupational therapist in both home health and mental health settings. Ryan also serves as the Occupational Therapy Supervisor at Ascension Housing and Health Alliance, supporting people affected by homelessness. Ryan's professional interests includes OT's role in mental health and psychiatric settings and supporting student success on fieldwork.
In addition to his work as an occupational therapist, Ryan is licensed as a clinical social worker and has worked in that capacity as a case manager, health educator, and psychotherapist. He has also worked in animal-assisted therapy in the inpatient rehabilitation unit at Swedish Hospital.
