Abstract

This project is conducted in partnership with the community-based organization Adaptive Adventures. Through interviews with individuals living with disabilities and staff members, as well as a large survey with members, this project aims to explore the impact of offering virtual adaptive leisure-time physical and recreational activities to people with physical disabilities. Specifically, this project has 3 objectives:

  • to understand the perceived physical, mental, and social health benefits of online adaptive leisure-time physical and recreational activities
  • to document the challenges and facilitators to participation
  • to identify the strategies that support participation in virtual adaptive leisure-time physical and recreational activities
