Abstract
The purpose of ‘PEACE OF MIND’ is to develop materials that will address topics such as what is dementia, best practices in caring for a loved one with dementia, accessing community resources, preserving the caregiver’s physical and mental health, and planning for the future.
This goal will be achieved through the following activities: (1) conducting focus groups with caregivers and community leaders from the target communities, (3) developing educational modules, multimedia resources, and a directory of community services for caregivers, (4) organizing group workshops for caregivers in congruence with community member preferences
The expected outputs are educational modules for dementia caregivers, a framework for cultural adaptation of the modules and their delivery based on focus group findings, a directory of community resources for each target community, and a toolkit for community partners to plan and sustain this activity beyond the funding period.
