About

Lois Hitchcock is a clinical assistant professor of health information management in the Department of Biomedical and Health Information Sciences (BHIS). In this position, she is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate HIM courses, as well as administrative activities for the MSHIM program. She received a BS in health information management from the College of St. Scholastica and an MHA from the University of LaVerne.

She is a member of the AHS Student Affairs Committee. Ms. Hitchcock has been a past representative of BHIS on the College of Applied Health Sciences Executive Committee and the BHIS Executive Committee. Her current expertise in education includes the United States healthcare system, management and business practices, and analysis and research of healthcare data. Prior to teaching, Lois held multiple administrative positions in health information management including director of medical records and quality assurance at a specialty facility, administrative director of HIM at a large, university medical center, as well as manager of client services for a system vendor.
