Health and rehabilitation sciences examines how people experience health, illness, injury and disability — and prepares you to help them live full, self-determined lives. It's a broad foundation for graduate or professional study in fields such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, medicine and public health, or for a career in health, disability and human services.
Housed in the College of Applied Health Sciences, our programs draw on research and expertise from across the college, giving you interdisciplinary, experiential learning you won't find in a single-discipline program.

An interdisciplinary foundation in Chicago
Every AHS department contributes to health and rehabilitation sciences, giving you access to research and expertise across disability studies, kinesiology, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy and health informatics.
You’ll also learn in one of the country’s largest urban health environments. UIC’s location puts hospitals, clinics, schools and community organizations across the city within reach — giving you direct, real-world exposure to how health, disability and access shape people’s lives.
