About

Toni Van Denend, OTD, OTR/L is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago, Department of Occupational Therapy. She has clinical experience working in the skilled nursing facility and home health settings. She has also worked on several research projects related to multiple sclerosis (MS), including work on aging with MS, fall prevention and fatigue management. She will be contributing to the Professional Development and Leadership entry-level OTD course series, in addition to courses primarily related to physical disabilities in the adult population. She plans to continue to support quality self-management programs for people with MS and supporting future occupational therapists in their delivery of quality, evidence-based services, especially for older adults and/or people with MS. She received her OTD and M.S. in occupational therapy (2019 and 2003, respectively) from the University of Illinois Chicago and her B.S. in Health Education from Illinois State University in 1999.
