About
Matt Gauthier is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and ABPTS Sports Certified Specialist. Dr. Gauthier received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University in 2009, and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Indiana University in 2012. He earned his board certification in Sports Physical Therapy in 2015 and treats athletic patients at the youth, high school, collegiate, professional, Olympic, and master’s levels. His clinical specialty is treatment of the overhead athlete and knee injuries. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the UIC DPT program, in which he teaches Applied Kinesiology as well as the Sports Physical Therapy Elective. He is also the director of the UIC Sports Physical Therapy Residency and Concussion Management programs. His research interests revolve around pitching biomechanics, athlete workload, and physical performance testing of the upper extremity, with publications as well as national and international conference presentations on these topics.
