About

Dr. Lee is part of clinical faculty in the Occupational Therapy Department at UIC. In the E-OTD program, she is the lead instructor for Communication & Therapeutic Relationships, Integrating Conceptual Practice Models with the OT Process, and Group Theory & Process; and co- instructor for several block courses including Occupational Development Across the Lifespan, Evaluation, and the OT Process: Application. Her clinical experience is in adult neurological/cognitive rehabilitation. As part of her post-doctoral training at UIC, Jenica collaborated with Dr. Jan Sandqvist, in the English translation of the Assessment Work Performance (AWP). The AWP is an observation tool based on the Model of Human Occupation, to assess individual work functioning and guide OT interventions related to work readiness and return to work outcomes. Her current scholarly interests include integrating theory to enhance OT education and practice, self-management for people with chronic conditions, and promoting wellness and participation in aging populations- with most recent focus on exploring the everyday technology use and e-Health services among older adults with functional limitations.

Service to Community

She has served as an OT consultant to the Chinese American Service League (CASL) since 2016 that included development & delivery of a series of inservices with the CASL home aides in efforts to enhance supports, safety, and participation of community-dwelling older adults. Most recently she is assisting with the implementation of the Tailored Activity Program for caregivers of people with Dementia
