About

Joel A. Lisen, PT, DPT, is an experienced Physical Therapist and Clinical Instructor renowned for his expertise in orthopedic and multi-trauma conditions, post-surgical rehabilitation, physiotherapeutic scoliosis-specific exercises (PSSE) for adolescents and adults, and the management of pelvic and spinal conditions that lead to poor compensatory posture and chronic pain. Holding a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, Joel is dedicated to enhancing recovery and functional outcomes for a diverse range of patients through advanced manual therapy, neuro re-education, and proprioceptive techniques.

At the University of Illinois-Chicago, Joel serves as a Visiting Clinical Instructor, where he excels in delivering high-quality patient care, providing comprehensive instruction and mentorship to students and residents. He is one of the core faculty members involved in the development of the LGBTQIA+ Practice Development Program, actively contributing to departmental initiatives and promoting equality and inclusion within the healthcare community.
