About
As Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical and Health Information Sciences, Gideon is the faculty lead for several courses in both baccalaureate and master’s programs in health information management. He is a graduate of our B.S. in Health Information Management program and has served on the College of Applied Health Sciences Alumni Board for several years. Gideon has extensive experience in healthcare technology implementations and has held various roles of increasing responsibility in compliance audit services at a large teaching hospital in the Chicago area. His areas of expertise include healthcare coding, regulatory compliance, revenue cycle management, compliance auditing, risk assessment, and data analytics.
Service to Community
Gideon served in the UIC-College of Applied Health Sciences Alumni Board for years. As a board member, he participated in the college fundraising efforts, organized events, activities and opportunities that foster professional relationships. He also represents the HIM programs and serves in the steering committee of the UIC-InterProfesional Education (IPE) and Collaborative Practice program.
