Presentation Abstract & Objectives
Each student from the entry-level occupational therapy doctorate (E-OTD) Class of 2025 completes an individual capstone project to demonstrate synthesis and application of knowledge gained in a focused area of study. In association with OT 678/Capstone Project 2, students, presented posters describing their capstone projects, under the supervision of their OT faculty advisors. Examples of capstone projects that will be described through this poster session include:
- Enhancing Home Safety Assessment Procedures in Clearbrook’s CILA Homes
- Self-Management Education for Adults Experiencing a Condition or Injury affecting the Upper Extremity
- Expanding and Enhancing Post-Secondary Education Opportunities for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
At the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to:
- Identify the needs addressed by the capstone projects undertaken by UIC E-OTD students in the Class of 2025.
- Describe occupational therapy practice implications associated with findings from the Class of 2025 capstone projects.
- Reflect on their practices to consider opportunities to collaborate with UIC faculty and E-OTD students on future E-OTD capstone projects.
