Helping high school athletes and coaches reach their performance potential

Our UIC Master of Science in Kinesiology Performance, Sport, and Exercise Psychology concentration offers sport psychology skills programs and workshops to high school student-athletes in the Chicago area at no charge.

Our faculty and graduate students are Certified Mental Performance Consultants or CMPCs-in-training through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.

Sport captain education and development workshops
Our graduate student consultants teach a wide range of captain skills, including:

  • teammateship
  • coping with stress.

School-wide sport psychology support
Our graduate students, working under UIC faculty supervision, can provide preseason and year-round sport psychology support for your school’s sports teams. We require six hours of contact time per week with your sport program.

Resilient Athlete Program

This program provides in-person or virtual one-on-one sport psychology consultations to improve athlete outcomes and well-being throughout athletic injury and return to sport. Services include specialized injury education, support and sport psychology skills, and rehabilitation plans.
