On Friday, April 25th, UI Health will host a “Lunch and Learn” workshop about effective communication to provide affirming care for LGBTQ patients. Objectives include:

  1. Summarize important LGBTQ terminology
  2. Describe health disparities faced by LGBTQ people
  3. Explain the importance of effective communication to provide affirming care for LGBTQ people
  4. Discuss how all UI Health employees can act as LGBTQ allies

Speakers include Katja Tetzlaff, co-chair of the Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of LGBTQ People, and Cheryl Pinotti, Director of UI Health Patient & Guest Experiences Office. Lunch will be provided.
