DHD researchers publish study evaluating Chicago area barrier-removal plans

Chicago area communities with ADA transition plans are more accessible than those without

Yochai Eisenberg, Robert Gould and Robin Jones published a study that compared communities with and without plans for removing barriers for pedestrians with disabilities. They found that communities with plans had higher accessibility scores than those without. As many communities across the US face lawsuits for their lack of progress in barrier-removal, this research shows a clear path and direction for policy and practice.
