The Integrative Physiology Laboratory (IPL) at the University of Illinois at Chicago is looking for participants for a research study examining the effect of age and fitness on the vascular response to acute inflammation.
We are looking for young (18 to 35 years) healthy men and women who are sedentary (less than 30 minutes of physical activity per day) and older (55 to 75 years) adults who are either sedentary (less than 30 minutes of physical activity per day) or aerobically trained (aerobic activity ≥30 minutes on ≥ 4 days/week).
The study will involve 3 visits and include:
1. Completion of health, nutrition, and physical activity questionnaires
2. Height, weight, waist, and body composition (DEXA) measurements
3. Heart rate, blood pressure & non-invasive artery blood flow measurements

5. Blood draw and Vitamin C consumption
Participants will receive monetary compensation upon finishing the study.
