Facilitators needed for spring 2024 Foundations of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice

This is a request for your participation in the very important role of facilitator for the Foundations of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (FICP) Program. The FICP program would not be possible without the contributions of faculty and staff facilitators that contribute their time and leadership. We continue to be very grateful for those who have participated in the past and we hope to grow the pool of facilitators through new faculty and staff who are willing to join the team.

The 2024 FICP course will be entirely online again this year. There will be two synchronous immersion sessions – the first on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 1-4 pm and a second on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 1-4 pm. Before participating in these sessions, students will have completed 3 online asynchronous modules.

Over 1,300 students participate in the FICP program. As in the past, students will be assigned to interprofessional teams of 10-12 students and there will be 1 facilitator per group. Students will attend one of the two sessions.

This year will be quite similar to last year with the use of Zoom as a primary meeting place. One of the things we will focus on in facilitator training this year is ways to increase student engagement in the virtual small group discussions. We know this can be a challenge and are gathering tips from facilitators that we will share.

We hope that you will participate as a facilitator at one – OR BOTH – of these sessions. We are working to be able to provide CE and CME credit to those who complete the training and facilitate. While we may not be able to do this for all licensed professionals, we ask that you let us know if this would be of value to you.

This link will take you to a Qualtrics survey where you can sign up as a facilitator for either April 12 or April 15– or both. It is also your opportunity to sign up for facilitator training which will be held on March 25 and March 27, 2024. Please attend one of those sessions if you can but it is not a requirement.
