About

Brenda has a dual position as a clinical assistant professor and a project coordinator in assistive technology services and training. She coordinates the seating and wheeled mobility services at the Assistive Technology Unit (ATU) within the Department of Disability and Human Development at UIC. Brenda is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Disability and Human Development (DHD) and the Department of Bioengineering at UIC. She teaches graduate courses in Assistive Technology in the Assistive Technology Certificate program. Brenda received a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia with a research concentration in rehabilitation engineering and has been a RESNA certified assistive technology professional (ATP) since 1997. Brenda is a frequent presenter and contributor at national and international conferences and has authored articles on rehabilitation technology.
