We Walk Plus

A walking program using physical activity monitors and social network for older adults with intellectual disabilities

This pilot study will test whether older adults (age 35-60 years) with intellectual disabilities who are physically inactive will increase their engagement in physical activity and improve their cognitive function in a 12-week community-based walking program. The intervention includes self-monitoring using wearable physical activity trackers, peer support provided through a virtual walking community, and person-centered motivational practices.
