RHIT to RHIA Transfer Program

Everything you need to know for a successful transfer to our program

We’ve compiled these transfer guides to help you transition from a community college to our RHIT to RHIA program. You may choose to enroll in the on-campus or online program. Our BS in health information management program is continually building new partnerships with community colleges, and we will add more transfer guides as they become available.

Already an RHIT? Your path to a UIC bachelor’s degree may be shorter than you think.

Students who have earned an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science from an Illinois community college and hold the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential may be eligible to complete our Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management in as few as three full-time semesters.

  • Apply prior coursework and RHIT certification toward your degree
  • Advanced HIM competencies aligned with AHIMA and CAHIIM standards
  • Upper-division HIM courses offered online
